Philanthropy
As some of you may or may not be aware Travis Parker's cousin has
contracted Leukemia at the age of 5 and his family does not have the
financial means to cover many of the expenses involved in the treatment
of their son. After hearing about my cousin and his family’s struggles
the brothers of Pi Kappa Alpha elected to do philanthropy to help them
get through this troubling time.
We are putting together a Talent Show in hopes to raise money for his
family. This is an invitation to not only come out and support but also
be a part of this event. The talent show is open to anyone who would
like to participate, Greek or Non Greek it does not matter.
To participate in the competition there will be a $15 entrance fee for
those who are part of a group comprised of fewer then 5 members, and a
$30 entrance free for those who are part of a group comprised of 5 or
more members.
For those of you who do choose to compete we will be awarding 3rd place
with $50 and 2nd place will receive a prize of $100 and 1st place will
receive $150
The event will be hosted by a local comedian and student George Mason,
Minseok Cho. Judging the competition will be Chris Jefferson, Marc
Williams, and Tyson Brown.

The Kappa Theta chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha
prides itself in its excellence in philanthropic endeavors. Community
service has been a major part of our achievements these past years, and
we aim to continue the tradition. Through our members we aim to project
SLAG (Scholars, Leaders, Athletes, Gentlemen) into our community and
help others in need. If you have any questions, requests, or concerns
about philanthropy events or community service, please feel free to
contact us.
For Fall 2007, Kappa Theta chapter teamed up with Sigma Phi Epsilon of
George Mason University to participate in a Date-a-Brother auction where
each fraternity auctioned off 12 of their brothers. In doing so, we
raised over $2400 for Youth Aids and the ALS Foundation. Check the
gallery for pictures from this event.
